Hugging Face Launches Part 2 of NLP Course with Community Event

Hugging Face has announced the release of Part 2 of its popular Hugging Face Course, set for November 15th. The new content covers advanced NLP tasks such as token classification, language modeling, translation, summarization, and question answering, alongside deeper dives into the Hugging Face ecosystem including Datasets and Tokenizers.

To celebrate the launch, the company is hosting a two-day community event featuring talks from industry experts, followed by team projects where participants fine-tune models on NLP tasks and create live demos. Projects will be showcased in a portfolio-friendly format, and all participants who complete a demo will receive a certificate of completion.

Sponsoring the event, AWS will provide free compute resources via Amazon SageMaker for participants. Registration is now open via a Google Form.

The event kicks off on Day 1 (November 15th) with high-level talks on Transformers and training techniques. Notable speakers include Thomas Wolf (Hugging Face co-founder), Margaret Mitchell (AI ethics researcher), Jakob Uszkoreit (Inceptive co-founder), Jay Alammar (Cohere), and representatives from Keras and PyTorch teams.

Day 2 (November 16th) shifts focus to practical tools, with presentations from Hugging Face engineers, Gradio, and AWS. Topics include the Transformers Trainer, new TensorFlow features, and the Hugging Face Hub for collaboration.
