Production on the fifth season of Hulu's reality series "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is set to resume, but the involvement of cast member Taylor Frankie Paul remains unclear following a tumultuous period marked by a domestic violence investigation.

Taylor Frankie Paul, a prominent figure from the series, recently responded to reports that filming would continue without her and her ex-partner Dakota Mortensen. On Instagram, she commented, "Interesting, that's not the call I got," casting doubt on her exclusion. While E! News confirmed that cameras are indeed rolling again, Taylor's participation is still up in the air.

A source close to the 31-year-old star revealed, "Taylor’s priority is her mental health and her family right now. Everyone at Hulu has been helpful and supportive. She wants to come back to the show in the future, but right now the focus is her family life and her wellbeing. When she's ready, the door is absolutely open."

Filming for the season was paused in mid-March after an alleged confrontation between Taylor and Dakota, who share a 2-year-old son. At the time, the Draper City Police Department confirmed an open "domestic assault investigation" into the incident from late February, with "allegations made in both directions." This followed a prior 2023 altercation between the couple, which led to Taylor pleading guilty to aggravated assault.

Amid the controversy, ABC canceled the planned airing of Taylor's season of "The Bachelorette" just days before its March 22 premiere. However, Taylor recently secured a small victory in her custody battle, being granted supervised visitation of her son. Additionally, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office announced in April that it would not file charges against Taylor after two separate police investigations.

Taylor, who is also a mother to two children with ex-husband Tate Paul, recently expressed gratitude for the support she has received. In an April Instagram post, she wrote, "Just want to say THANK YOU to those that have all helped carry. Nothing but gratitude for these gifts given by different people at different times that have been essential for me through this specific time. Thank you to every message, meal, gift, call, prayer, and support of any kind sent. There is the human side of this and then it gets to a point of it being miraculous when you start to see it from a bigger lens."

As production moves forward, the future of Taylor Frankie Paul on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" remains a key point of interest for fans and industry observers alike.
