ICE Agents Drag Man from Brooklyn Hospital Amid Violent Protests

Video footage shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents forcibly removing a man from Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn on Saturday night, as a crowd of angry protesters clashed with police outside.

The man, identified by the Department of Homeland Security as Chidozie Wilson Okeke, a Nigerian national, was taken into custody after allegedly overstaying his tourist visa, which expired in February 2024. DHS claims Okeke had prior arrests for assault and drug possession, and that he attempted to hit officers with his car during the arrest. He then became physically combative, punching and elbowing agents, authorities said.

According to DHS, Okeke requested medical attention after the arrest, leading agents to bring him to the hospital. There, he remained non-compliant, throwing himself to the floor and screaming, until medical staff cleared him for release. Agents then dragged him out of the facility and across the street to a waiting black SUV.

The scene outside was chaotic: anti-ICE protesters had gathered, berating officers and trashing the area. The confrontation escalated into physical scuffles, with the street descending into bedlam. The entire incident was captured on video.
