Centre Louie Hennessey has been ruled out of Wales' summer internationals with injury.

Bath Rugby say the 22-year-old will instead undergo treatment for shoulder damage sustained during their 38-26 Champions Cup semi-final defeat at Bordeaux-Begles in early May.

Hennessey scored a try in the match but suffered the injury making a tackle on Bordeaux prop Ben Tameifuna.

First called up to the Wales squad in autumn 2025, the Cardiff-born back has made one Test appearance for Wales so far, coming off the bench in the closing stages of the 27-17 Six Nations defeat away by Ireland in March.

Steve Tandy's other midfield options include Max Llewellyn, Mason Grady, Eddie James and uncapped Harlequins centre Bryn Bradley.

Wales open their summer campaign against the Barbarians at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Saturday, 27 June before facing Fiji, Argentina and South Africa in the new Nations Championship.

Cardiff prop Kieron Assiratti is also a major doubt after suffering a calf injury against Stormers in the United Rugby Championship.

Uncapped Ben Warren is one of three other tight-head props alongside Dillon Lewis and Sam Wainwright.

Tomas Francis is being rested this summer while Archie Griffin is missing after undergoing surgery.

The opening game of Wales' summer series is a double-header against the Barbarians at Allianz Stadium.

The men's match will kick off at 14:00 BST with the women's game following at 17:00 in games that are expected to be uncapped.

It is considered an away game for Wales so Barbarians choose the venue as the "home side" while the Principality Stadium is hosting non-related rugby events over the summer with Metallica playing a rock concert in Cardiff on Sunday, 28 June.

Wales will then play three away games in the summer campaign against Fiji, Argentina and South Africa in World Rugby's new biennial competition.

Wales open their Nations Championship campaign against Fiji at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, 4 July.

It is an away game for Wales with Fiji playing their home matches at venues outside their country.

It will be the first time the Wales men's national side play an international at the home of Cardiff City football club.

Wales then travel to play Argentina in San Juan on Saturday, 11 July before making the trip to play the Springboks in Durban seven days later.

Tandy's side will host Japan, New Zealand and Australia at Principality Stadium in November in the second half of the Nations Championship.
