James Safechuck Speaks Out on Abuse Survivors’ Struggles Amid New Michael Jackson Biopic

James Safechuck, one of Michael Jackson's accusers, has released a video message urging childhood sexual abuse survivors to recognize that they are not alone, timed to the theatrical release of the new 'Michael' biopic.

In the video, released through his attorney, Safechuck says that the Hollywood hype surrounding the film can be triggering for survivors. He notes that abusers are sometimes celebrated even after accusations are made public, and he wants survivors to know their experiences are valid.

Safechuck and Wade Robson allege they were sexually abused by Michael Jackson as children, as detailed in the HBO documentary 'Leaving Neverland.' Jackson was never convicted of any crime, and his estate continues to deny the allegations. Safechuck and Robson are currently seeking $400 million in damages from Jackson's estate.
