Jinger Duggar and her husband Jeremy Vuolo have opened up about the emotional fallout following the arrest of Jinger's brother, Joseph Duggar, on child molestation charges. In a recent episode of their podcast, the couple discussed the "reopened wounds" caused by the legal troubles plaguing the Duggar family.

Joseph Duggar, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was arrested in Florida. His wife, Kendra, was also arrested on child endangerment charges in Arkansas. Jinger and Jeremy expressed shock and heartbreak, noting that the situation feels all too familiar given past family scandals.

Jeremy pointed to the "dangerous theology" of Bill Gothard and the Institute of Basic Life Principles (IBLP), which heavily influenced the Duggar family's upbringing. He emphasized the need to be careful about belief systems that can have devastating consequences. The couple's reflections come a month after Joseph's arrest, which they initially described as "devastating."

This is not the first time the Duggar family has faced such accusations. Jinger's older brother, Josh Duggar, is currently serving a 12-year federal prison sentence for receiving child sex abuse material, after being revealed to have sexually abused his sisters as a teenager. Jinger and Jeremy's podcast conversation also highlighted the broader impact of the family's religious environment.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, Joseph's parents, have also addressed the arrest, expressing heartbreak and asking for privacy while focusing on supporting the family and praying for the victim. Other Duggar family members, including Jill Duggar Dillard, have yet to comment publicly.
