Actor Joey Lawrence and his wife Samantha Cope have welcomed their second child together, a son named Ford Joseph Lawrence, marking a joyful new chapter for the couple who recently reconciled after a brief separation.

Ford was born on April 6, with the couple announcing the news on Instagram on April 9. "What an absolute blessing you are baby boy!" they wrote. "It will be an Easter Weekend to remember forever."

The newborn joins the couple's 3-year-old daughter, Dylan Rose. Lawrence is also father to two daughters from a previous marriage: Charleston "Charli," 19, and Liberty "Libby" Grace, 16, with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson.

"I think it's too easy," Lawrence told E! News in July about their decision to reconcile. "As much as you don't want to take an easy way out, or you think this will be the fix—it's not always the case. I just didn't want to do that. And she didn't either. It’s like, ‘Wait a minute. There’s something so special here.’"

The couple's reconciliation and subsequent pregnancy announcement came just months after Cope filed for divorce in August 2024, citing "irreconcilable differences." They publicly reunited in December of that year.

Lawrence and Cope first revealed they were expecting during a red carpet appearance at the Dancing With the Stars 20th anniversary episode in November. At the time, Lawrence humorously noted the pregnancy was unplanned before clarifying he was joking, while Cope shared her excitement about welcoming "our first boy."

Lawrence, 49, best known for roles in Blossom and Melissa & Joey, emphasized that his wife deserved the spotlight during the pregnancy. "It's not me. She's the one actually doing the work," he said. "I'm just here going, 'Look at this.'"

The couple married in May 2022 and have navigated their relationship challenges with a commitment to working through difficulties rather than giving up. "Things take a lot of work and a lot of dedication and reworking and retooling," Lawrence reflected. "That's life, though. As brothers, with your parents, with friends, in business, that's it. Everything takes so much work. Whatever it is, just don't give up, because you never know."
