JoJo Siwa pulled out all the stops to celebrate a major milestone with boyfriend Chris Hughes, marking one year since they first met on Celebrity Big Brother. The Dance Moms alum orchestrated a jaw-dropping surprise that perfectly captured the whimsical and colorful essence of their romance.

In a YouTube video shared on April 7, Siwa revealed she had secretly staged a full-scale performance of her new song, "Serendipity," a track she wrote as a tribute to their love story. The elaborate production featured 86 dancers, showgirl-style ostrich feathers, and a vibrant explosion of color—all hallmarks of Siwa's signature style. To ensure Hughes's genuine reaction was captured, 24 hidden cameras were placed throughout the venue.

The surprise unfolded as Hughes, believing he was simply attending a show with Siwa, entered an empty theater with her parents. The word "Serendipity" was displayed on stage, immediately catching his attention as a meaningful nod to their relationship. The curtain then rose to reveal Siwa leading the massive dance number, a performance that required five full days of rehearsals.

"I still don’t know what’s going on," a stunned Hughes admitted after the performance, standing to applaud.

Reflecting on their anniversary, Hughes took to Instagram to share his disbelief at how quickly the year had passed.

"One year ago today, I discovered your existence," he wrote. "The first thing I ever said to you was, 'You’re very colorful,' and that color still radiates every day! Feels like yesterday I got out the bb house, crazy universe."

Siwa echoed his sentiments in a comment, calling it "one perfect, beautiful year" that felt "like yesterday and ten years ago all at the same time."

In an interview last October, Siwa described their connection as uniquely effortless, crediting fate for bringing them together.

"The universe literally said, 'Oh yeah, by the way. You two belong together, you’ll figure it out eventually,'" she told E! News. "And we did! We’ve both been in relationships prior, but I think that’s why this feels easy. We have fun and we keep things light."

The grand gesture underscores a year defined by public affection and shared milestones for the couple, who met while filming the UK reality series in 2025.
