Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is embracing fatherhood with enthusiasm and gratitude, weeks after welcoming his first child with wife Hailee Steinfeld. The NFL star opened up about the life-changing experience during a recent press conference, highlighting how parenthood has already reshaped his perspective both on and off the field.
"It definitely changes [your] mindset a little bit," Allen told reporters on April 20. "I'm very excited. I do think this is going to be the best version of myself in all aspects—in my professional career and my personal life. It's such a blessing."
The 29-year-old athlete was quick to credit Steinfeld, calling her an "absolute rockstar" for her support during this transitional period. "I've got an absolute rockstar of a wife," he emphasized, "that's doing so many things right now and allowing me to be here right now and be with my teammates. So yes, special times."
When asked about the challenges of newborn life, particularly sleep deprivation, Allen maintained a positive outlook. "I mean, no, but I wouldn't want any other way," he said with a laugh. "It's very rewarding."
This isn't the first time Allen has expressed excitement about becoming a father. Months before their daughter's arrival, he shared his anticipation during a Bills press conference, stating, "I'm very much looking forward to that, with my wife, of becoming a dad. It's something that I will take with great pride."
Allen acknowledged the upcoming challenge of balancing parenting responsibilities with football commitments as training camp approaches this summer. "We're going to have to figure out things on the go just like anything else," he noted. "This is the most important thing I'll ever be in my life, is being a dad. I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I'm looking forward to this one."
Steinfeld echoed the joy of their new chapter in her Beau Society Substack newsletter shortly after their daughter's April 2 birth. "To say we are unbelievably happy and in love with this baby girl would be an understatement," the 29-year-old actress wrote. "I'm soaking in the newborn bliss."
The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in May 2023 and confirmed their relationship that summer, have seamlessly transitioned into parenthood while maintaining their respective careers—Steinfeld in entertainment and Allen on the football field.
