Miss Earth Philippines 2025 Joy Barcoma has broken her silence over allegations that she is a bully, addressing the criticism in a teaser for her upcoming guest appearance on the online show "Your Honor."
In the preview, Barcoma, who is also known as the "Pambansang Jusa," admitted to being "patola"—a Filipino term for someone who readily retaliates against bashers.
"Patola talaga ako. Ginisang patola with corned beef," she said, laughing. "Gusto kong gisahin 'yung mga taong may beef ako."
When asked what she does not engage with, she replied, "Yung mga hindi ko pinapatulan, wala."
The beauty queen also addressed the bullying issue directly, clarifying, "Hindi naman ako bully, patolera talaga ako. 'Yun lang 'yung ugali ko. Hindi kita kakantiin hangga't hindi mo ako kinakanti."
She confessed that in the past, she used to jump into conflicts involving her friends, which may have contributed to the perception of her being a bully. However, she said she learned the hard way to stay out of others' battles.
"Kaya nga ako nasabihang bully kasi nga pala patol nga ako. Ang problema, natutuhan ko, I learned it the hard way. So kapag may battles ang mga kaibigan ko, sa inyo na 'yan, 'te. Kasi dati kinukuha ko, tapos nagbati kayo, kami magkaaway pa rin," she shared.
Fans can catch Barcoma's full interview on "Your Honor" this Saturday, May 2.
