Actor Justin Theroux and actress Nicole Brydon Bloom have announced the arrival of their first child together, a baby boy.
The couple shared the news on Instagram on April 18 with a black-and-white photo of the newborn resting on Theroux's chest, captioned simply, "He's here. We are so in love." They have not yet revealed their son's name or exact date of birth.
This joyful milestone comes just over a year after Theroux, 54, and Brydon Bloom, 32, were married in a beach ceremony in Mexico attended by close friends and fellow stars like Paul Rudd, Beanie Feldstein, and Ben Stiller.
In a recent interview, the couple expressed that the pregnancy was a happy surprise. "We weren't entirely planning it," Brydon Bloom shared last month, "but we were excited to start a family." She humorously recounted her husband's initial reaction to the news: "'How?!' I was like, 'Well, I can walk you through it. It was a team effort.'"
For Theroux, fatherhood marks a significant personal evolution. In a 2021 interview, prior to meeting his now-wife, he expressed ambivalence about having children, stating, "I don't have a resistance to it, but I don't have an eagerness for it." He credited his connection with Brydon Bloom, whom he was introduced to by a mutual friend in 2022, for changing his perspective.
Reflecting on their first meeting, Theroux recalled a friend whispering, "That's the one," as he saw Brydon Bloom across the room. "She's so stunning," he remembered thinking before approaching her. The relationship progressed from that moment, leading to their wedding and now, the expansion of their family.
