Residents of the Kanto region should prepare for a wet Wednesday as forecasters predict two distinct waves of rain on May 1. The first peak is expected during the morning commute, with a second surge arriving in the evening hours.

According to TBS NEWS DIG meteorologists, the unstable weather pattern will bring intermittent showers throughout the day, but the heaviest rainfall will concentrate around two windows: roughly 6–9 a.m. and again from 5–8 p.m. Localized flooding and reduced visibility are possible during these periods, particularly on roads and low-lying areas.

The forecast, delivered by newscaster Junna Yamagata and weather forecaster Manami Sakaguchi, advises commuters to allow extra travel time and consider rain gear. The afternoon may offer a brief lull, but skies are expected to remain overcast with a chance of sudden downpours.

Temperatures will hover near seasonal averages, with highs around 20°C (68°F) in central Tokyo. Winds will be light but gusty near thunderstorms. The rain is expected to taper off after midnight, leading to partly cloudy skies on May 2.
