Kanye West Faces $850K Lawsuit from Former Security Guard Over Unpaid Wages

Kanye West's mounting legal troubles have intensified with a new lawsuit from a former bodyguard seeking nearly $1 million in damages, according to recently filed court documents.

Jonathan Monroe, who served as West's full-time security guard in 2021, alleges he was never fully compensated for his work and is now pursuing $850,000 in unpaid wages and damages. The lawsuit claims West failed to pay overtime and regular wages, with Monroe detailing specific instances of financial neglect.

"When I asked for cash or use of his credit card to cover the expense, [Kanye] walked away from me without a response," Monroe stated in court filings regarding a request for reimbursement after filling West's Lamborghini with gas.

The breakdown of Monroe's claim includes $7,725 for unpaid overtime, $37,620 in lost wages, $500,000 for lost earnings, $100,000 for pain and suffering, and an additional $100,000 in punitive damages.

This latest legal action follows another recent judgment against West, who was ordered to pay former employee Tony Saxon $140,000 in a separate employment dispute.

The lawsuit emerges amid broader professional setbacks for the controversial artist. London's Wireless Festival recently canceled its event after sponsors withdrew support due to West's scheduled headlining performance, and the British government subsequently denied him entry to the United Kingdom.

West's representatives have not yet publicly commented on the new lawsuit, which adds to the growing list of legal and professional challenges facing the musician and fashion designer.
