Kasabian delivered a dynamic performance on the UK edition of Saturday Night Live, showcasing two new songs that highlight their evolving sound. The Leicester-based indie rockers took the stage on April 4, with actor Riz Ahmed hosting the episode.
Frontman Serge Pizzorno expressed enthusiasm about the appearance, telling NME beforehand that having music back on television felt "really beautiful." The band opened with their dance-infused collaboration with Calvin Harris, 'Release the Pressure,' before later performing their recent guitar-driven single 'Great Pretender.'
Pizzorno has described 'Great Pretender' as "a proper fucking guitar track for people to get together. It's just joy." Both performances are available for viewing online.
The tracks preview the band's upcoming album 'Act III,' scheduled for release on July 17. Kasabian was the third musical guest on the newly launched SNL UK, following appearances by Wolf Alice and Wet Leg earlier in the season.
