Kate Hudson's Hollywood Family Dream: A Cinematic Reunion with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell

Kate Hudson has revealed her heartfelt desire to share the silver screen with her legendary family members, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, in what could be a blockbuster family affair.

In an exclusive interview, the actress expressed both excitement and humor about the potential project. "It could be a disaster," she joked, before adding, "But I have so much respect for every actor in our family." Hudson emphasized the fleeting nature of time, noting, "Life goes fast, and you just gotta take every second in. Every moment I get with my family and my parents is something I'm going to be very present in."

While Hudson and Russell previously collaborated on the 2016 film Deepwater Horizon, working with her mother remains an unfulfilled dream. "It would be amazing if I got the opportunity to work with my mom," she shared. Though no such project is currently in development, Hudson is keeping the possibility alive. "It probably will never happen, but we'll see," she said, adding with a laugh, "Put it out there. It would be like Arrested Development."

The actress recently experienced the power of family support at the 2026 Oscars, where she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Song Sung Blue. "I had my son Ryder, I had my dad, I had my mom, I had my husband," she recounted. "I mean, he's not really my husband, but he's basically my husband. It was a really, really special night."

Reflecting on her showbiz family, Hudson noted the unique understanding they share. "My family is a part of the industry and loves the industry, so there's a familiarity and an understanding," she explained. "There's recognition that's sort of different than if you grew up in a family that wasn't and didn't understand the business."

For now, fans can see Hudson in Running Point season two, streaming on Netflix from April 23. The series features a special cameo from Jake From State Farm, marking the insurance mascot's first foray into film and television. "More people were star-struck on set like, 'Is that Jake from State Farm?'" Hudson quipped. "I feel so lucky that our show was his first."
