Katie Bates has found a poignant way to keep her baby's memory alive. Three months after confirming a pregnancy loss, the former Bringing Up Bates star revealed a special necklace dedicated to her child.
"This necklace is really special to me," Katie shared in an April 4 Instagram Stories post. "I had a miscarriage in January and my sister got this beautiful necklace."
She explained the necklace's symbolism: "The angel wings and August birthstone represent our sweet baby in Heaven. Forever part of our family."
The 25-year-old mother of two—Hailey, 3, and Harvey, 18 months—has faced a challenging period. In January, she posted a video from her pregnancy with the caption, "I will spend the rest of my life missing you."
Just one day later, her husband Travis Clark confessed to infidelity in a public Instagram statement.
"This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology," Travis wrote. "I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone."
Katie addressed the dual challenges of pregnancy loss and marital betrayal in her own statement days later.
"This has been an incredibly painful time for me and for our family," she wrote on January 19. "As many now know, our marriage has been deeply hurt and my trust has been broken. Right now, I am taking life one day at a time and focusing on what matters most: our children, their future, and my own healing."
In February, Katie revealed she had participated in a four-day therapy intensive, explaining, "I don't really feel equipped to handle something like this on my own, so getting help feels important."
She found solace in motherhood, noting, "Being mom to Hailey and Harvey and finding little pieces of normal life again has been so grounding for me."
