UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev has set his sights on a boxing match with Conor McGregor, even as he prepares for a title defense next week.
Speaking to TMZ Sports during a media session in Southern California, the 32-year-old fighter expressed interest in a 12-round boxing bout under the Zuffa Boxing banner.
"I don't know, probably it would be Zuffa boxing with Conor. Maybe that. We will just box 12 rounds," Chimaev said.
McGregor, of course, is no stranger to the boxing ring. He famously faced Floyd Mayweather in 2017 in one of the most lucrative combat sports events ever.
Chimaev's comments come just days before his own highly anticipated fight against Sean Strickland, but the Swedish star is already thinking about future challenges.
