Filipino basketball star Kiefer Ravena has confirmed he will continue playing in Japan's B. League for the time being, despite swirling rumors about a potential return to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Ravena, who currently suits up for the Yokohama B-Corsairs, addressed the speculation after the team's recent game. "I'm still with Yokohama. That's my focus right now," he said. However, he left the door open for future changes, adding, "But in sports, you never know what tomorrow brings."
The player's contract with the B-Corsairs runs until the end of the current season, after which he will evaluate his options. Ravena, 30, has been a standout in Japan since joining the league in 2022, averaging impressive numbers and helping elevate the profile of Filipino players overseas.
Ravena's decision comes amid increasing interest from PBA teams eager to bring him back to the Philippines. Several clubs have reportedly expressed willingness to acquire his rights. For now, though, Ravena remains committed to his Japanese squad.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to play here. The competition is tough, and it's making me a better player," he stated. The guard's continued stint abroad underscores the growing trend of Filipino talents seeking challenges in foreign leagues.
