The New York Knicks are returning to the NBA Finals for the first time in nearly three decades after completing a four-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers with a decisive Game 4 victory. The win marked a historic milestone for the franchise, which last appeared in the championship series in 1997.
Jalen Brunson led the charge with 29 points and 8 assists, while Julius Randle added a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The Knicks' defense stifled the Cavaliers, holding them to just 88 points on 39% shooting from the field.
"This is what we've been working for since day one," said Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau. "The guys showed incredible resilience and focus throughout the series."
The Knicks will now await the winner of the Western Conference finals to determine their opponent in the NBA Finals.
