Jalen Brunson poured in 30 points as the New York Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 121-108 on Saturday night, securing a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals. The victory puts the Knicks on the brink of their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.
Brunson, who has been a postseason revelation, added eight assists and four rebounds. Julius Randle chipped in with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while RJ Barrett contributed 20 points. The Knicks shot 52% from the field and dominated the glass, outrebounding the Cavaliers 48-35.
Cleveland, despite a valiant effort from Donovan Mitchell (28 points), could not overcome New York's balanced attack. The Cavaliers now face a daunting 0-3 deficit, a hole from which no NBA team has ever recovered.
Game 4 is scheduled for Monday night in Cleveland.
