Former NBA star Lamar Odom is offering a different perspective on his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian's account of his 2015 near-fatal overdose, emphasizing divine intervention over human rescue.

In a recent interview, Odom responded to questions about whether Kardashian saved his life after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel, suffering multiple heart attacks and strokes. "In some ways," Odom acknowledged. "God saved my life. My lord saved my life, honestly."

While recognizing that Kardashian "took care of me" during his recovery, Odom maintained that "God took care of me the most. What I came back from is like a medical miracle."

The 46-year-old also challenged Kardashian's claim in his Netflix documentary that his late father, Joe Odom, was prepared to remove him from life support. "If you know Joe Odom, I don't think that's something that would ever come out of his mouth," Odom stated. "He was my biggest fan. I don't know where that got mistranslated."

Odom described a 2025 reunion with Kardashian on her reality show as "awkward, and it wasn't really good for me," though he noted that "once you're family, you're always family." When asked about romantic reconciliation, he clarified, "I will always have love for her, but being in love, no."

Kardashian's version of events, detailed in the documentary, portrays her as deeply involved in Odom's recovery, including renting him a home near hers and providing caretakers after his hospitalization. However, she recounted discovering him smoking crack cocaine months later, leading to their final separation.

"Once you know the smell of crack," Kardashian said in the documentary, "it's the most identifiable, disgusting smell." She described confronting Odom and ending her financial support, with their divorce finalized in December 2016.

The contrasting accounts highlight ongoing tensions between the former couple, who married just one month after meeting in 2009 and divorced seven years later following Odom's health crisis and subsequent struggles.
