Patrick Muldoon's sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, has shared the final video her brother sent just hours before he died from a heart attack on April 19 at age 57.
In the video, posted to Instagram on April 22, Patrick is seen at a preview opening of the new Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The Days of Our Lives actor points out a 1622 painting by Domenichino Zampieri and then breaks into a chant from his high school days at Loyola High School.
Shana explained that her brother admired St. Ignatius because "he was kind of the cool guy, good time guy who was still able to become a saint." She described Patrick as "the joke-ster, the artist, the football player, and the intensely spiritually connected, Jesuit educated, incredible being."
"As always, he jokes… and yet profoundly brings all things into one moment," Shana wrote. She added that her family will share details on a celebration of his life soon, but for now, they are processing his sudden death.
"I continue to speak of him in present tense," she said. "Because his spirit is all around me. He just changed forms."
Former girlfriend Denise Richards also paid tribute, calling Patrick her "best friend" and saying the friendship, love, and loyalty they shared was "unconditional and rare."
