Lauren Sánchez Bezos has addressed recent speculation about expanding her family with husband Jeff Bezos, clarifying that despite a comment suggesting enthusiasm, there are no immediate plans for another child.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, the former journalist expressed affection for her husband by saying she would "have a baby tomorrow" with the Amazon founder. However, a spokesperson for Sánchez Bezos has since clarified to the publication that she is "not having a baby," putting to rest rumors of an imminent addition to their blended family.
The couple, who married in June of last year, already share a large blended family. Sánchez Bezos has three children from previous relationships—Nikko Gonzalez, 25, Evan Whitesell, 19, and Ella Whitesell, 18—while Bezos has four children with his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.
Despite the clarification on baby plans, Sánchez Bezos offered a glimpse into her marital happiness during the interview.
"Jeff is my best friend, and I don't say that lightly," she emphasized. "I talk about everything with him. Everything!"
She also shared insights into how their families have successfully merged, recounting a poignant moment from their Italian wedding where one of her children, who is dyslexic, delivered a heartfelt speech.
"I had no idea what he was going to say," Sánchez Bezos recalled during a recent appearance on the Today show. "It was literally the most meaningful and impactful moment at my wedding, besides getting married to Jeff."
As her youngest child prepares to leave for college next fall, Sánchez Bezos reflected on the impending transition to becoming an empty nester, sharing an emotional dinner conversation with her daughter that ended in laughter.
The clarification from her spokesperson ensures that while the couple's bond remains strong, their family size is set to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.
