Talks are intensifying in Congress over a sweeping agricultural aid package that could be worth between $10 billion and $20 billion for 2026. "We need to ensure our farmers get the relief they need, especially with input costs skyrocketing," a congressional aide stated.
The package comes as farmers across the country face financial strain from high fertilizer prices, which have cut into profit margins. Lawmakers are also debating how to structure aid to prevent large agribusinesses from capturing an outsized share of the funds.
