Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi has responded with trademark humor after being mistakenly identified as Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton during a high-profile Coachella outing with Kim Kardashian.

A fan account posted video footage from Justin Bieber's April 11 Coachella performance showing Kardashian and Hamilton together, but captioned it "Lewis Capaldi spotted with Kim Kardashian at Coachella." Capaldi quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to playfully address the confusion, writing: "wow guys not cool such an invasion of our privacy."

In reality, it was Kardashian, 45, and Hamilton, 41, who attended the music festival together, accompanied by Kardashian's 12-year-old daughter North West. The outing marked another public appearance for the couple, whose relationship has been the subject of increasing speculation since they were photographed boarding a private plane to Paris earlier this year.

"You get really comfortable the longer you're single," Kardashian admitted in a November episode of The Kardashians. "You get really comfortable being single and the thought of you sharing a bed or your TV shows with someone else becomes less and less appealing because you get set in your ways."

The reality star, who finalized her divorce from Kanye West in 2022, added that she had been focusing on her career but remained open to romance: "When the right person comes along, I'll be so ready and everything will be fine."

Hamilton and Kardashian have known each other since the mid-2010s, but their relationship appears to have intensified in recent months. The racing champion left a flirty comment on Kardashian's Instagram post in March, and the pair went "Instagram official" earlier this month when Hamilton posted a video of Kardashian in the passenger seat of his car.

Capaldi's lighthearted response to the mistaken identity highlights the amusing side of celebrity culture, where similar names can lead to social media mix-ups. The singer, best known for his hit "Someone You Loved," has built a reputation for his self-deprecating humor and engaging social media presence.

The Coachella appearance also featured other members of the Kardashian-Jenner family, including Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, making it a star-studded affair at the annual music festival.
