Mikey Lewis scored four tries as Hull Kingston Rovers cruised to a dominant 48-12 victory over a depleted Bradford Bulls side at Odsal, moving up to fifth in the Super League standings.
The Robins' stand-off was in scintillating form, touching down twice in the opening eight minutes to set the tone. Tyrone May and Rhyse Martin added further tries as Hull KR raced to a 24-0 lead within the first quarter of the match.
Bradford, hit hard by injuries with 13 first-team players unavailable, showed resilience to fight back before half-time. Brandon Douglas, on loan from Halifax Panthers, barged over for his first Super League try, and veteran Greg Eden, making his first top-flight appearance since 2023, capitalised on defensive lapses to bring the score to 24-12.
However, any hopes of a Bulls revival were extinguished early in the second half when Jack Broadbent gathered a delicate kick from May to score. Lewis then completed his hat-trick with a clever dummy, before adding a fourth with a dazzling run through three defenders – the first time he has scored four tries in a senior match. Peta Hiku rounded off the scoring from another May kick, and Martin added his eighth conversion to finish with a personal haul of 20 points.
Hull KR's victory was their fifth consecutive win in all competitions, while Bradford’s makeshift lineup struggled to contain the visitors' attacking firepower.
Bradford Bulls coach Kurt Haggerty:
"We spoke about putting in an effort-based performance and I think that's what it was today. When fatigue kicks in against a side like Hull KR, it gets very difficult, but the learning will only help us."
