The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a summons to a motorcycle rider who gained notoriety after a video of him performing a dangerous wheelie went viral on social media. The footage, which circulated widely online, shows the rider lifting the front wheel of his motorcycle while speeding on a public road, endangering himself and other motorists.
In response, the LTO moved swiftly to identify the rider through the vehicle's plate number and other details from the video. The agency has ordered the rider to appear for a hearing to face charges of reckless driving and violation of traffic rules. If found guilty, he could face fines, suspension, or revocation of his driver's license.
Authorities reminded the public that stunts on public roads are strictly prohibited and urged netizens to report similar incidents. The LTO also warned that viral fame does not exempt anyone from legal consequences.
