Lukaku and Napoli Reach Amicable Resolution After Training Absence Dispute

Romelu Lukaku has resolved a recent dispute with Napoli through constructive discussions, paving the way for his return to action after an injury-plagued season.

Following reports in March that the Belgian striker faced potential disciplinary action for allegedly ignoring a club request to attend training in Italy, Lukaku returned to Naples for what insiders describe as "calm, collaborative and constructive" talks. The discussions included his agent Federico Pastorello and Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna.

"The talks are understood to have led to an amicable solution, with sources insisting the matter is now closed," according to reports.

Lukaku's season has been severely limited by a persistent hamstring injury, restricting him to just seven appearances for the defending Serie A champions. His most recent appearance came as a substitute in Napoli's 2-1 victory over Torino on March 6.

The 32-year-old forward has spent recent weeks in Belgium recovering from an injury setback, which kept him away from Napoli's training facilities. During the reconciliation talks, Lukaku provided the club with an update on his rehabilitation progress.

It is now anticipated that the former Manchester United, Chelsea, and Everton striker could be available for selection within approximately two weeks, offering Napoli a potential boost as they navigate the remainder of their campaign.
