The luxury Zanzibar hotel where influencer Ashlee Jenae died has issued its first public statement, expressing condolences and pledging full cooperation with authorities.
Ashlee Jenae, 31, was found unconscious in her villa at Zuri Zanzibar last week while celebrating her birthday and recent engagement with fiancé Joe McCann. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital, with the cause of death still undetermined.
In a statement to media, hotel management said: "We are deeply saddened by a tragic incident involving one of our guests. Our sincerest thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and loved ones during this painful time. We are providing our full cooperation to the local authorities and the U.S. Embassy."

While local police are reportedly investigating the possibility of suicide, Jenae's family has expressed skepticism about that theory. The family says they haven't spoken with McCann since the incident, and reports indicate he's being interviewed by police as part of the ongoing investigation.
Jenae's father has traveled to Washington D.C. seeking government assistance, and family members are considering traveling to Zanzibar to meet directly with investigators handling the case. The tragedy has drawn international attention to the popular tourist destination off the coast of Tanzania.
