Manila Standard Launches Cash Aid Program for Vulnerable Sectors

The Manila Standard has announced a new cash assistance initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable communities across the Philippines. The program, which rolled out this week, targets low-income families, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities who have been hardest hit by the rising cost of living.

According to a statement from the newspaper's management, the cash aid will be distributed through local government units to ensure timely and transparent delivery. Each qualified beneficiary will receive a one-time payout of PHP 3,000, with priority given to those not yet covered by existing government subsidy programs.

"We recognize the economic strain many Filipinos are facing, and we want to do our part to help," said a Manila Standard spokesperson. "This is not a loan; it is a direct grant. No repayment is required."

Applications will be processed at barangay halls, and beneficiaries must present valid IDs and proof of residency. The program is expected to benefit over 50,000 individuals in its first phase, with additional funding rounds planned based on demand and available resources.
