Marian Rivera, celebrated as the Kapuso Primetime Queen, has been officially announced as the lead star in the upcoming Prime Video original series "Behind Closed Doors." The mysterious new project marks a significant departure for the actress, who will portray a journalist entangled in a secret relationship with the President of the Philippines.
"There was no reason to say no to this project because it's so off-beat for me," Rivera shared during the Prime Video Philippines launch event in Makati City this past Tuesday. She expressed enthusiasm for the challenging role, noting it is her first time playing both a mistress and a journalist. "That's why I said, why not try something new for me? I'm incredibly excited. Finally, after two years, I'm back."
The series will be directed by Dominic Zapata, who is eager to collaborate with Rivera once more. Her most recent appearances were in the GMA Prime series "My Guardian Alien" and the Cinemalaya film "Balota."
