Actor Matt Bomer shared a startling story about a fan encounter that nearly turned dangerous during a recent interview with his Outcome co-stars Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz.

Bomer revealed that while walking, a driver spotted him, became distracted, and almost struck him with their vehicle. "I had someone almost hit me with a car," Bomer told Entertainment Weekly. "They were really excited. It wasn't the best way to break the ice, but they didn't mean harm. They just weren't thinking in the moment."

The 48-year-old clarified the incident was accidental, stemming from the fan's excitement. "They were turning left and saw me as they were turning, I guess," he recalled. "They wanted to say hi, and then pulled over, and it was awkward."

His co-stars had humorous reactions. Keanu Reeves jokingly scolded, "My God, Matt Bomer, you were causing traffic accidents!" while Cameron Diaz quipped, "I'd crash my car if I saw you on the street."

Despite the scare, Bomer expressed gratitude for the fan's appreciation, though he noted, "I'm always grateful that people have responded to whatever you've done, but that was definitely one of the times it got a little out of hand."

The actors were promoting their upcoming film Outcome, which debuts April 10. The movie follows an actor forced to make amends as part of an extortion plot. Reflecting on the industry, Bomer offered advice to aspiring actors about handling fame: "I would say if you’re lucky like Reef, surround yourself with friends and keep your friends who maybe knew you before as well if you can, who can really ground you and who are gonna be there by your side through the good and the bad and the ups and downs of it all."
