McGregor Tips Scales at 170.5 Pounds for Long-Awaited UFC Return Against Holloway

Conor McGregor is officially fight-ready after stepping on the scale at 170.5 pounds (77.3 kg) on Friday, clearing the final hurdle before his first UFC bout in five years. The Irish star will headline UFC 329 on Saturday night in Las Vegas, facing Max Holloway in a highly anticipated rematch.

McGregor, a former two-division champion, has not competed since breaking his tibia against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. His return has been delayed multiple times, including a toe injury that forced him to pull out of a scheduled fight with Michael Chandler in 2024. Now back in the welterweight division, the 37-year-old aims to climb back into title contention with a 22-6 record.

Holloway, 34, weighed in at 170 pounds (77.1 kg) for his official welterweight debut. The Hawaiian, known for his historic runs at featherweight and lightweight, holds a 27-9 record. He seeks to avenge a unanimous decision loss to McGregor from 13 years ago, when McGregor was a rising star in the UFC.

The weigh-in theatrics hinted at the tension to come: McGregor snatched Holloway's Oakley Meta sunglasses during their faceoff and tossed them aside. Holloway later joked on Twitter, "Man, I'm going to miss those sunglasses."

UFC 329 caps International Fight Week in Las Vegas, with the McGregor-Holloway rematch serving as the main event.
