Mckenna Grace is diving deep into the "Scooby-Doo" archives as she prepares to portray Daphne in the upcoming live-action series, revealing a particular admiration for Sarah Michelle Gellar's iconic take on the character.

In a recent airport encounter, Grace shared her excitement and preparation process for the role. She confirmed she has been extensively studying past "Scooby-Doo" material, including a wide range of animated content.

"I love the live-action movies from the early 2000s," Grace said, referring to the films starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Linda Cardellini, and Matthew Lillard.

Grace also revealed she has been consulting with her "Scream 7" co-star Matthew Lillard—who played Shaggy in those very films—to gain unique insight into the franchise's legacy.

When asked if she had a message for Gellar, Grace offered a brief, three-word statement, the specifics of which she encouraged fans to discover by watching the full interview clip.

The new series, which follows the Mystery Inc. gang, is gradually revealing its cast. Tanner Hagen will play Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson is set as Velma, and Maxwell Jenkins will portray Fred. Paul Walter Hauser has also joined the project in an undisclosed role.
