Megan Thee Stallion is leaving Broadway's Moulin Rouge! The Musical earlier than planned. The rapper announced on April 27 that her final performance as club owner Zidler will be May 1, cutting short her originally scheduled eight-week run that was set to end May 17.
"Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1," Megan wrote on Instagram. "It's been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I've met so many amazing people in this theater!"
She added: "Y'all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y'all put into the work. I'm so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL."
While Megan, 31, didn't give a specific reason for her early exit, her tenure has been marked by challenges. Earlier this month, she was briefly hospitalized for "extreme exhaustion and dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels," according to her rep. More recently, she confirmed her breakup with NBA player Klay Thompson.
"I've made the decision to end my relationship with Klay," Megan told E! News on April 25. "Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward."
She added: "I'm taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity."
Despite the emotional turmoil, Megan pushed through her performance the same night she announced the split. Video footage from the curtain call shows her breaking down in tears on stage.
Klay, who has been dating Megan since last year, has not publicly commented on the breakup. Representatives for the NBA star have not responded to requests for comment.
