MANILA, Philippines — Property giant Megaworld Corp. is launching a major new development in Batangas, with land development set to begin soon for the P12-billion San Benito Private Estate in Lipa City. This integrated township marks the company's strategic entry into the wellness-focused community sector.
In a recent disclosure, the Andrew Tan-led firm announced that construction of roads and essential infrastructure for the initial phase of the 25-hectare project will commence in the coming months. The development is a joint venture with CG Hospitality, the hospitality division of CG Corp. Global, which owns the internationally acclaimed wellness resort, The Farm at San Benito.
“We are developing this wellness community to celebrate and honor the natural beauty of Batangas, and at the same time provide our future residents and guests with direct, seamless access to the country’s most celebrated wellness sanctuary, The Farm,” said Kevin Tan, president and CEO of Alliance Global Group Inc.
The township will feature private villas, residential lots, commercial spaces, and a curated selection of leisure and wellness amenities designed to foster a holistic lifestyle. Located near Lipa City proper, the estate will include sports and leisure hubs, an active adult center, and expansive green parks with nature trails and scenic mountain views.
A distinctive aspect of the project is that approximately half of the estate will be preserved as open spaces, including natural parks, forest reserves, and untouched terrain. This design philosophy emphasizes the integration of development with the natural environment.
A key highlight for residents will be exclusive access to The Farm at San Benito, a 52-hectare medical wellness resort operated under Marriott International’s Autograph Collection. The resort is renowned for its comprehensive health programs and has been consistently ranked among the world's top medical wellness destinations.
Megaworld president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso noted that embedding sustainability, wellness, and longevity into new developments is a core part of the company's long-term strategy. The San Benito project also aligns with Megaworld's broader expansion efforts outside Metro Manila, supported by a P65-billion capital expenditure budget for township developments nationwide this year.
The initiative reflects the growing demand for wellness tourism and lifestyle-oriented communities in the Philippines, positioning Batangas as a key destination for integrated, health-focused living.
