Pop star Meghan Trainor has made the difficult decision to cancel her upcoming "Get In Girl" tour, citing family priorities and her forthcoming album release as the primary reasons.
In a statement released on Thursday, Trainor revealed that after "some really tough conversations," she concluded that canceling the 33-show tour was necessary. The singer emphasized her need to be "home and present" to focus on her new baby and the rollout of her upcoming album, "Toy With Me."
"I apologize for the disappointment," Trainor stated, "but this is the right decision for myself and my family right now."
The tour, which was announced back in November, was scheduled to begin this June in Clarkston, Michigan, with Icona Pop and Trainor's brother Ryan as opening acts. All shows have already been removed from Ticketmaster, with the ticketing platform promising refunds to purchasers "as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer."
Trainor, who recently shared the tracklist for "Toy With Me" ahead of its release next Friday, assured fans in her statement that she'd "be back soon." The mother of three has been actively promoting her new music while balancing family responsibilities.
The cancellation comes as Trainor continues her album promotion cycle, having just revealed details about her upcoming release. Despite the tour's cancellation, the singer expressed excitement about sharing her new music with fans in the near future.
