Meghan Trainor Postpones Tour to Focus on Newborn Daughter and Album Release

Meghan Trainor has announced the cancellation of her upcoming Get in Girl tour, citing the need to prioritize her newborn daughter and upcoming album release. The tour was scheduled to begin on June 12 in Michigan, but the singer revealed her decision in an Instagram Story on April 16.

"Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now," Trainor wrote. "I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time."

The 32-year-old artist, who welcomed daughter Mikey with husband Daryl Sabara less than three months ago, acknowledged the disappointment this would cause fans. "I'm so sorry to let you down," she expressed, while promising a return to the stage soon. "I promise I'll be back soon, and I can't wait for you to hear this new record. I'm so proud of it, and I'm endlessly grateful for your love and support always."

Trainor's new album, Toy With Me, is set for release on April 24. The singer has been open about her focus on mental health and self-care while managing her busy schedule as a mother of three. In a recent interview, she shared her approach to wellness, including therapy, medication, and comprehensive health testing.

"You have to take care of your mental health first," Trainor emphasized. "I'm on antidepressants. I'm in therapy every week. I just got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm testing my blood, poop, my everything, to make sure I'm at peak healthiness."

The artist also credited her seven-year marriage to Sabara with providing stability and confidence. "It's a nice relief to be confidently loved," she noted. "I know I'm the one he's obsessed with, and he's the one I'm obsessed with."

Trainor concluded her announcement with optimism about her future return to touring, assuring fans that this pause is temporary and necessary for her family's wellbeing.
