Meryl Streep has revealed a minor “beef” she once had with her Death Becomes Her co-star Goldie Hawn—stemming from Hawn’s habit of arriving late to set.

In a recent Vanity Fair interview, the 76-year-old actress recalled that Hawn, now 80, was “always late.” Streep, who prides herself on punctuality, admitted it was a point of friction. “She was so adorable. And I'm always on time, you know, and annoying. But she's late, and she had a red convertible, I remember. And she'd drive herself to set, so that was probably the problem.”

Despite the tension, the two never came to blows like their characters in the 1992 black comedy. “I had a beef with her, but I loved her,” Streep said. The pair have remained close friends since the film, bonding over its cult status. Streep described the movie—a satirical take on Hollywood’s obsession with beauty—as “like a documentary on Beverly Hills.”

She also shared fond memories of co-star Bruce Willis, who played their love interest. “Bruce was divine. He had a reputation for being a bad boy, but with us he was such a gent and willing to be ridiculous. I just thought he was wonderful.”

While Streep and Hawn have long since squashed their beef, the entertainment world has seen its share of celebrity feuds. From Queer Eye’s Tan France and Bobby Berk to Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson, tensions often simmer beneath the surface.
