Several areas in Metro Manila experienced sudden heavy rain and flooding early Thursday morning.

According to James Agustin's report on Unang Balita, the downpour began past 3 a.m., forcing motorcycle riders to take shelter along EDSA.

Among the flooded areas was the EDSA-Balintawak northbound lane, though the water subsided after about an hour. Motorists were forced to slow down and pull over to the side.

Moderate rain was also experienced along EDSA Muñoz.

Flooding also occurred on the northbound lane of EDSA in Barangay Apolonio Samson.

Some young residents were seen bathing in the floodwaters, seemingly unfazed by the danger.

Trash clogged several drains, which was quickly removed by a gasoline pump attendant.

Intermittent rain also fell along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay early in the morning.

In Manila, rain started around 4 a.m.

Meanwhile, no flooding was reported at Taft Avenue corner UN Avenue up to the corner of Quirino Avenue.

The situation was similar along España Boulevard.
