Machine Gun Kelly has opened up about how a past drug offense continues to impact his travel. The "Emo Girl" singer, real name Colson Baker, said he was caught with cocaine while returning from New Zealand and now faces restrictions at airports.
"I got caught with cocaine on the way back from New Zealand last time I was out here," MGK said on the April 22 episode of Take Flight. "Traveling was difficult because I have a level one narcotics possession or whatever."
As a result, the 36-year-old had trouble getting visas for Australia and was unable to visit for eight years. He also revealed that he is still barred from TSA PreCheck and Global Entry due to his drug record.
"I still don't get PreCheck or Global Entry or any of that fast stuff in the airport," he added. "I'm still stuck in lines like normal."
Despite these setbacks, MGK has been open about his journey to sobriety. In a 2024 interview on the Dumb Blonde podcast, he shared, "I'm completely sober from everything. I don't drink anymore. I haven't drank since last August."
He credited his lifestyle change to his then-fiancée Megan Fox and his daughter Casie, saying their support helped him seek rehab and find healthier coping mechanisms.
MGK's candidness highlights the long-lasting effects of past mistakes and his commitment to personal growth.
