Michael Jackson's Son Bigi 'Blanket' Steps Into Spotlight at Berlin Biopic Premiere

Michael Jackson's youngest son, Bigi "Blanket" Jackson, made a rare public appearance alongside his brother Prince Jackson at the Berlin premiere of the new biopic Michael on April 10. The event marked a notable moment for the typically private 24-year-old, who joined family members in celebrating the film about his late father.

Bigi and his 29-year-old brother Prince attended the red carpet with their uncles Jermaine and Jackie Jackson, as well as their cousin Jafar Jackson, who portrays the King of Pop in the movie. Both brothers paid subtle tribute to their father through their attire, wearing dark suit jackets adorned with gold crown decals and red armbands—a nod to Michael Jackson's advocacy for children's rights.

Their sister Paris Jackson, 28, was notably absent from the premiere. She has previously expressed criticism of the biopic, calling it a "sugar-coated" portrayal of her father's life. In an Instagram statement last August, Paris revealed she had provided feedback on an early script but felt her concerns were not addressed.

"I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life," she wrote. "Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and god speed."

Paris acknowledged that the film, produced in collaboration with Michael Jackson's estate, would likely satisfy many fans, particularly those she described as "still living in the fantasy." She concluded her remarks by stating, "Go enjoy it. Do whatever. Leave me out of it."

The Berlin premiere represents one of Bigi's few public appearances in recent years. In February 2024, he attended the Santa Monica Film Festival where his directorial debut, the short film Rochelles, won the Best Drama award. He last joined Prince on a red carpet in March 2024 for the opening night of MJ: The Musical.
