Mike Patton, the legendary frontman of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle, made a spectacular appearance with the Avett Brothers during the opening nights of their joint AVTT/PTTN tour, delivering unexpected renditions of classic tracks that thrilled audiences.

The collaboration, which saw Patton team up with Scott and Seth Avett, kicked off with shows in Louisville on April 10 and Nashville on April 11. The setlist blended new material from their self-titled debut album with surprises from Patton's extensive catalog.

The band opened with AVTT/PTTN tracks 'Disappearing' and 'The Ox Driver’s Song,' then transitioned into Avett Brothers favorites 'Ain’t No Man,' 'No Hard Feelings,' and 'May It Last.'

Midway through the performance, Patton took center stage to perform Faith No More's 'Epic,' a move that electrified the crowd. He also delivered a powerful version of Mr. Bungle's 'Retrovertigo,' showcasing his signature vocal range. The set further included covers of Dean Martin's 'You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You' and Roger Miller's 'King of the Road,' highlighting the eclectic musical fusion of the new band.

The AVTT/PTTN project was announced last autumn, followed by the release of their debut album in November. The tour marks their first major live outing after promotional appearances at the Grammy Museum and on The Tonight Show. Fans can expect more genre-blending performances as the tour continues across the United States.
