Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have mastered the art of co-parenting their 15-year-old son Flynn, and the secret is simple: always put the child first.

"Put the needs of the child first," the supermodel told E! News at the Environmental Working Group's Know Your Worth Earth Day Dinner on April 22. "That's so important to think about, is this in the best interest for the child? And that's what we've done from day one with Flynn, and that's helped navigate so many challenging situations that have come up. Kids first."

Kerr, who also shares sons Hart (7), Myles (6), and Pierre (2) with husband Evan Spiegel, emphasized that kindness is the foundation of their household. "Being kind to people, being respectful is just the basic level," she explained. "Kindness is just basic expectation around our house."

She shared a sweet glimpse into her recent birthday celebrations, noting that each of her boys made her a handmade gift—from a painted photo frame by the two-year-old to a heart origami and a butterfly drawing. As for Flynn, his card was delayed: "Flynn says that he hasn't finished my card yet. My birthday was two days ago, but that's teenagers for you."

Kerr also spoke about her long-standing commitment to clean beauty through her brand Kora Organics, which has been EWG-certified since its launch in 2006. "From day one, when I started my line in 2006, we've been certified organic. So we were way above what clean beauty is as a trend now—we were way before that even started," she said. "I'm really proud to be here tonight and to be a part of EWG."
