The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced the revival of its emergency hotline, 136 Troopers, encouraging the public to use the service to report floods, accidents, and other emergencies.
In a statement, the MMDA reminded residents that the hotline is available 24/7 and can be reached for immediate assistance during calamities or crises. The agency urged citizens to call 136 to alert authorities about flooding in their areas, vehicular accidents, or any urgent situations requiring response.
"We are bringing back the 136 Troopers to ensure that help is just a call away," an MMDA official said. The hotline aims to facilitate faster coordination between the public and emergency services, particularly during the rainy season when flooding is a major concern.
The MMDA also advised the public to stay vigilant and report any emergencies promptly to prevent accidents and minimize damage.
