Sofia Vergara recently celebrated her former on-screen husband Ed O'Neill's 80th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, highlighting the enduring connections among the Modern Family cast.

"Feliz cumpleaños to my favorite husband!" Vergara wrote alongside a nostalgic photo of the pair. "I miss u Ed O'neil!!!!"

While the cast initially drifted apart after the series finale—coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic—Vergara emphasized that their separation was short-lived. "We are still like a family," she explained in a recent interview. "Everything we do, we are connected in a gigantic chat with all the kids and all the actors. And we're always watching each other, supporting each other."

Fellow cast member Ariel Winter echoed this sentiment, describing her relationship with on-screen brother Nolan Gould as particularly special. "He is my brother," Winter shared. "He was my first best friend, which is a really beautiful thing. We met when he was 10 and I was 11, and we've gone through so many stages of life together."

The cast continues to reunite regularly, with Jesse Tyler Ferguson recently posting about a New Year's Day lunch with Winter and Gould, captioning it, "new year, new lunch with the fam."

Despite pursuing diverse paths since the show ended—from Vergara's business ventures to Gould's cross-country travels in a van—the actors maintain what Vergara calls "an unbreakable bond" forged over eleven seasons together.
