Motherwell and Hearts Stars Shine in PFA Scotland's Elite XI Selection

The Professional Footballers' Association Scotland has unveiled its Premiership Team of the Year for the 2025-26 season, with Motherwell and Heart of Midlothian players claiming the majority of spots.

Fourth-placed Motherwell leads the selections with five representatives, while league leaders Hearts follow closely with four players making the prestigious lineup. The team is completed by one player each from Celtic and Rangers.

The individual PFA Scotland nominees will be revealed later this month, with the winners announced on 3 May.

Motherwell's contingent includes goalkeeper Calum Ward, defender Paul McGinn, midfielders Elliot Watt and Elijah Just, plus forward Tawanda Maswanhise—who leads the league's scoring charts with 17 goals.

Hearts' selections feature defenders Craig Halkett and Harry Milne alongside forwards Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga, who have combined for an impressive 33 goals across all competitions this season.

The remaining spots go to Celtic midfielder Benjamin Nygren, who has netted 19 goals in all competitions, and Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez.
