Muhammad Ali's Legacy of Compassion: 10 Years After His Passing

Ten years after the death of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, his widow Lonnie Ali is calling for a national 'day of compassion' amid deepening divisions in the United States.

In a recent interview, she recalled Ali's famous words: 'Service is the rent we pay for our room here on Earth.' She urged Americans to honor his memory by reaching out to those in need and bridging divides.

Ali, who died on June 3, 2016, at age 74, was known as much for his humanitarian work and civil rights activism as for his prowess in the ring. His legacy, Lonnie noted, is more relevant than ever as the country grapples with political and social polarization.

'He would want us to use our voices for good, to stand up for justice, and to show compassion to all,' she said. 'That is his true legacy.'
