Natalie Portman has revealed she is expecting her third child, marking her first pregnancy with partner Tanguy Destable. The Oscar-winning actress confirmed the news in an interview with Harper's Bazaar published on April 17.
"Tanguy and I are very excited," Portman told the magazine. "I'm just very grateful. I know it's such a privilege and a miracle."
The 44-year-old actress, who shares two children with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied, reflected on her family background in fertility medicine when discussing the pregnancy.
"I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant," she explained. "I have so many people I love who've had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It's such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it's also not an easy thing."
Portman and Destable, a French musician, have maintained a private relationship since being linked in March of last year. The pregnancy announcement comes two years after Portman finalized her divorce from Millepied, whom she married in 2012.
While Portman keeps her family life largely out of the public eye, she occasionally shares glimpses of her parenting approach. In a recent interview, she noted that her children—14-year-old Aleph and 9-year-old Amalia—prefer to see her as their mother rather than as a movie star.
"They kind of just want to see me as me, which I appreciate," she said.
The actress concluded her pregnancy announcement with heartfelt gratitude, telling Harper's Bazaar: "Noting 'how lucky it is,' I have deep appreciation and gratitude."
