A fire that broke out in Navotas City on Tuesday morning left three people dead, including a pregnant woman, authorities said.
The blaze, which started in a residential area in Barangay San Rafael Village, quickly spread through several houses made of light materials. Firefighters battled the flames for over an hour before bringing it under control.
Among the fatalities was a pregnant woman who was trapped inside her home. Two other individuals, whose identities have not yet been released, also perished in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials estimate that dozens of families were displaced by the incident.
Local authorities are coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to provide assistance to the victims.
